Privacy Policy
This site is a solo project run by Volodya Avetisyan. This policy explains, in plain terms, what happens to information when you visit www.wallsandwords.site or use one of the Android wallpaper apps linked from it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past — if something here is unclear, please ask.
Last updated: 1 September 2026.
1. The short version
I do not ask you for your name, your email address or any account details, because there are no accounts on this site and nothing to sign up for. I do not sell data, and I do not build profiles of visitors. What information does get collected is collected automatically by two Google services — Analytics and AdSense — and is described below. The browser tools on this site process everything on your own device and upload nothing.
2. Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, this one records some technical information when a page loads. Through Google Analytics that includes:
- device type, operating system and browser
- approximate location, derived from your IP address at country or city level rather than anything finer
- which pages you opened, in what order, and roughly how long you stayed
- the site or search that referred you here
I see this only in aggregate — as counts and trends across all visitors. I cannot use it to identify you, and I do not try to.
3. Information you choose to send
If you email me through the address on the contact page, I receive whatever you put in that message, including your email address. I use it to reply and for nothing else. I do not add it to a mailing list, and I do not pass it on. Correspondence is kept only as long as the exchange is useful, and deleted after that; if you would like a message deleted sooner, ask and I will do it.
4. Cookies and advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertising. What that means in practice:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit here and to other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes the advertising you see less specific to you.
- You can opt out of a much wider list of third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads here, and they set their own cookies under their own policies. Google's own practices are described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. The browser tools
The five tools under /tools — the palette extractor, the wallpaper preview, the battery calculator, the display database and the theme quiz — run entirely in your browser. Any image you open in them is read by your own device and is never uploaded, stored or transmitted anywhere. Closing the tab discards it. This is a design decision, not a promise about a server: there is no upload endpoint for those tools to send an image to.
6. Why this processing is lawful (EEA and UK visitors)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, the legal bases are these. Analytics and advertising cookies are used on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clearing cookies for this site and declining them, or by using the opt-out links in section 4. Replying to an email you send me rests on legitimate interests — specifically, answering a message you deliberately sent. Keeping the site running and secure also rests on legitimate interests.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your national data protection authority. In practice the only personal data I hold directly is email correspondence, so most requests resolve quickly. Write to the address in section 11 and I will respond within one month.
8. California residents
I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and I do not knowingly process the personal information of anyone under 16 for advertising purposes. California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and will not be treated differently for exercising that right.
9. Children
Neither this site nor the apps are directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, tell me and I will delete it.
10. Retention and international transfers
Google Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule and is aggregated well before I see it. Email is kept only as described in section 3. Because the services used here are operated by Google, data may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in the United States, under the safeguards Google applies to such transfers.
11. Contact
Questions, corrections and data requests all go to the same place:
Email: [email protected]
Website: https://www.wallsandwords.site
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest signal — if it has not moved, nothing has changed.
